I think people have a negative view of the church because they are not genuine believers. It also depends on the environment that they were brought up around. Sometimes they are fighting against God's calling. They want to do their own thing and not surrender to God's calling.

To help them not to have a negative view of the church, I would show them love and kindness. Have a positive view around them and pray that they will change their view from negative to positive of the church.

I believe the reason so many people have a negative outlook on church these days is because of hypocrisy. The hard truth is that there are many people that go to chruch to say that they went. There is also people or christians that go to church on Sunday and act one way, but once outside of church are a complete different person and don’t live by God’s expectations for us. It makes you think why would people think positive when they are seeing church folk being hypocritical, even though there are many of us that are out in the world who are living honest.

I agree with you Sister Danielle. Some people just don't want to change. They want to live their life according to their own standards which requires no real discipline, obedience and respect. It's all about self, worldly desires and pleasures. It also has do with how some people were raised. Some were raised with no parental guidance or structure in the home. No Spiritual background or knowledge of who God is and how our lives are truly supposed to be lived.
