Pastor of Grace Baptist Community Church

Pastor Christopher C. McGill Jr was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and grew up in the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C Area. He graduated from high school in Arlington, Virginia, followed by completing an degree in Criminal Justice at a small trade school at Gibbs college. It was in 2005 when he received his calling to pursue full-time ministry. Soon after, Pastor McGill began taking classes at Washington Bible College as he interned in youth ministry at Antioch Baptist Church, under the direct leadership and supervision of Pastor William H. Gibbs, from 2005 to 2007. Pastor McGill then went back to school full-time to sharpen his skills in ministry from an educational standpoint, as he then transferred his membership to Flat Run Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA, during the spring of 2007.Pastor McGill served at Flat Run Baptist Church as a Pastoral Assistant intern as he completed his degree in Pastoral Studies and Bible concentration at Virginia Baptist College, which he received in May 2010. After many years of service, he was recommended by Flat Run Baptist Church and its Senior Pastor Ryan Flanders to be brought before the ordination council to be ordained as Associate Pastor. The ordination council consisted of 12 pastors and professors from different churches. Pastor McGill received his ordination in the fall of 2011.His ordination made history as his was the first ordination at Flat Run since the 1970s, and he was the first African American to be ordained out of the church in its 162-year history. At Flat Run, Pastor McGill served as an elder in the church and he served over many ministries including student and adult ministries, Discipleship classes and Christian education, and the music ministry. He has performed, conducted, and spoken at numerous events including youth services, counseling sessions, and weddings. On July 8, 2012 Pastor McGill was voted in as the Senior Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Madison, VA. He assumed this position on September 1, 2012.Pastor McGill has a passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God and is determined to carry out the great commission that Jesus gave, to “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
